Teams are getting going---good job!
Walk Across Texas is a FREE* Program designed to help Texans start moving more and establish the habit of regular physical activity for a lifetime.
Doing Walk Across Texas with people you know is a great way to help keep you motivated to reach your goal!
To walk across the state in twelve weeks (June 14th - Sept. 7th 2015), everyone on an 8-person team (does not have to be a church member) must walk about 8-9 miles each week.
DO NOT WALK IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY---SAFETY FIRST-- TEXAS HEAT, YOU KNOW?!
What makes up a Team?
It can be a single family, or families and friends combining to form a larger team. It does not have to be eight people. However, the fewer the people on your team, the more miles must be walked by each person. It is 838 miles from El Paso (our starting point) to Port Neches (our welcome home)! You may want to select a Team Captain to register your team name, list your members, and submit your combined (team) total miles to the church office each Monday. You can walk together with team members, or walk separately. This will be on the Honor System and is meant to encourage participation from everyone in your family/team for wellness of Spirit, Soul, and Body!
(We will have a Welcome Home Celebration at the end of our Journey.)
WE HAVE ISSUED A CHALLENGE TO FBC NEDERLAND TO SEE WHO CAN HAVE THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF TEAMS CROSS THE FINISH LINE!
SOUTHISDE----YOU CAN DO IT!
May you and those you love have a happy and healthy Summer,
